My Precious Mila,
October 20, 2023

This week marked another monumental chapter in your ever-evolving story: your first week of daycare! Oh, how my heart swells with pride witnessing you step into this new world, embracing the new environment and growing each day. It's surreal to think that just the other day you were a tiny bundle in my arms, and now, here you are, embarking on new adventures of your own.

We gently eased you into this transition, starting with just a few hours on the first day and gradually building up to six hours. As your parent, I must confess, it wasn’t just an adjustment for you but for me as well. The house felt a bit too quiet without your presence, and the hours seemed to stretch endlessly until it was time to pick you up.

Yet, life has a funny way of mixing joy with challenges. After your first day of daycare you caught bug that causes you to have a pesky running nose. And in no time, my little germ-magnet, you shared it with me!! The ailment I caught wasn’t just a minor cold; it escalated into a full-blown flu. The timing couldn’t have been more perfect as we had big plans to celebrate your mom's birthday. But sometimes, life has other plans. Instead of a festive celebration, we found ourselves at a hospital trying to get my vomiting under control.

While this wasn’t how I envisioned spending your mom's special day, it's a testament to the unpredictable nature of life. Sometimes, plans change, challenges arise, and we must adapt. This is a very important life lesson that I want to teach you.

Sweet Mila, as you grow and experience the vastness of life, always remember that adversity is just a chapter, not the whole story. And with every challenge, there’s a lesson, a memory, and an experience that shapes us. You have already shown so much resilience in your young life, and I can't wait to see the incredible person you will become.

With all the love in the world,

Your Papa
